This is the only company that I have given a negative review on Amazon. The spinnergy started off well, then I had the exact same problem as a previous reviewer. The handle broke off because of a design flaw. A plastic piece broke off and slid down into the body of the vacuum as I was placing the handle back into place. Thus the handle is useless.

The unit is still under warranty. I brought it to an authorized dealer and was told that the company didn't want to pay to get it repaired, claiming user fault. Not sure how they came to that descision when all I did was slide the handle back into the vacuum.

I tried contacting the company but all I could do was fill out a contact form. The response was a standard form letter. I was instructed to bring the vacuum to an authorized dealer even though I had mentioned that I already did that. There was no contact name on the email, and my original email was not forwarded. Therefore even if tried to contact them again I would have to start over again.

I also take the filter out and blow it out every so often. for those that go through belts must not be adjusting the carpet hight setting or have the brush clogged with long hair. I don't love this tool because I find it awkward to use. It lacks the flexibility of my old Dirt Devil, which also had the wedge head, a feature I like.

I find the hose attachment very hard to use because it's not flexible enough, and the machine itself is terribly unwieldy for hose use.

The cord storage is awful, and the on/off switch couldn't be more inconvenient. Well, maybe it could...like at the very bottom of the cleaning head for instance.

It's very noisy. I hate emptying it.

There's just one thing I have to praise to the sky. It has suction power I was floored by (pun intended). This little sucker certainly does that. It works on the few small rugs I have in the kitchen area, well enough to hold them until I use the big serious vacuum cleaner. And on vinyl, it's terrific.

Well, I won't lie. I found one unused in it's original box at a yard sale and paid $2. I had it on my wish list here, so felt really lucky. My daughter loves this, and loves helping with housework. This has been the most unhappy vacuum-owning experience of my life. After two terrible years with this product, I am literally throwing it away and starting over. There is a design or production flaw with this vacuum. Mine does not seem to be the only lemon out there, according to the other reviews, so I'm calling it a design flaw.

For the majority of times that I've used this vacuum, almost nothing ends up in the cup. It's still picking up stuff from the carpet, but it never reaches the cup, getting stuck in the hose. You end up with this long, compacted caterpillar of dust and hair and debris that you have to physically remove from the hose yourself, with your hands and a long crotchet hook. It's disgusting, not to mention the hazard of having a motor have to work hard enough to pull air through that caterpillar; the unit becomes very hot. I actually watched the gunk being pulled into the cup and then flying right back up into the hose, where it begins to form an obstruction. I would like to mail this vacuum back to its designers in pieces.

In addition to this horrendous problem, you have two additional filters that constantly need to be cleaned (like every other time you use it,) one of which flies off the machine on a regular basis (like twice a session, and yesterday, right after I had cleaned it.) You don't want to clean those small filters before you have had your shower, because you're about to have a dust, and, no doubt, dust mite, coating added to your exterior. I am not overstating my difficulties with this machine; I would feel guilty selling it in a garage sale for ten bucks. Perhaps they have addressed these flaws in their new models?? I wouldn't chance it.

I worked as a house cleaner for several years prior to purchasing my own Royal Everlast. My boss and I tried almost every moderately-priced vacuum on the market and, hands down, Royals are THE BEST. These vacuum cleaners are tough enough to hold up to the rigors of cleaning 5-6 large homes a day 5 days a week without losing suction or needing repairs. In fact, the only time we ever took our Royals in for service was when my boss forgot it was sitting behind her car and drove over it. These things are tough enough that it just required a few replacement parts in the handle to complete the repair.

These vacuum cleaners are lighter and easier to handle than most others of comparable price. They are NOT quiet vacuum cleaners, so don't buy one expecting to be able to vacuum the baby's room while they are napping. However, for the most cleaning power for the buck these things are absolutely top-notch. I will never, ever buy another brand or style of vacuum cleaner other than a Royal Everlast.

A few tips: if you want to get a major cleaning power boost you can take your vacuum to a Royal-certified repair facility and they will upgrade the motor for a relatively small amount (from my memory I believe it costs less than $30, but that was several years ago). Also, a definite must is purchasing the attachment set (which allows you to vacuum hard surfaces/furniture/stairs/etc). 1) Oversized rear wheels make it easy to do throw rugs, transition from floor to carpet, and just move the machine around. No more bunching up a rug because little wheels couldn't clear the bump.
2) Permanent self, cleaning HEPA filter. Other vacuums expect you to spend $30 to $40 every six months for new filters. Warning: If you have a long haired dog this isn't the vacuum for you. The long hairs can cause problems with the filter (stops it from spinning and that's how it cleans itself -- info from a Hoover service tech). But for the rest of us, it's a great vac (in 5 years of using our first Z700 we didn't have any filter problems with 2 adults and 3 cats, including one long hair, in a big house with lots of carpets).
3) No light bulbs to replace! Six bright, long life LEDs are spaced across the front of the vac.
4) Very long hose makes doing stairs easy and it very well integrated into the vacuum, so you don't have to find a place to store a separate hose.
5) Long low nose fits under furniture very easily.
6) Adjustable for every user. Most vacuums seem to be designed for 5'6" ladies and using them has always resulted in a back ache for this 6' tall fellow. The Z700 allows you to adjust its handle's height so the vacuum fits you! No more back aches from stooping over to vacuum.

One caveat: When the Chinese bought Hoover (BAD!), they ended support for this brilliant vacuum. So you won't be able to get parts. The unit becomes clogged with dirt because the filter rotation device does not work properly and the unit must be completely disassembled to clean it out and to try to fix the rotation device.

Now that I have mine completely disassembled I tried to find a new filter on-line. No Luck on that and I used the Hoover Part Numbers, even Hoover's Web Site did not have it.

I estimate it would cost you $100 to have it repaired in a shop, plus parts.

5 stars for suction. 3 stars for ease of vacuuming/pushing. So I average 4 stars for the Bissell Cleanview II 3576. Overall, considering the low cost of this vacuum, it's a great deal. I have no issue with the level of suction I'm getting from this machine. I live in a rural mountain town with four shedding dogs and two males. Need I say more? Hair and dirt are a major part of my life. The Bissell fills the dirt cup when you could swear your carpet was already clean. I don't find emptying the dirt cup to be much of an issue as some people do. I don't "dump" it into the trash... instead I lay it on top of the trash itself, turn it over and then gently tap it. I would be dealing with way more dust flying around if I were changing a vacuum bag. I also like to use carpet fresheners (like Arm & Hammer Pet Care) which involve sprinkling, and then vacuuming, baking soda type powders. That would be a problem with bag style vacuums as they can feel up quickly and be quite heavy. This IS a heavy vacuum, but any good vacuum I see for sale is in the same weight category, to be honest. The only significant drawback to this Bissell is that it can really resist moving across the carpet. I can't say I blame it... I resist vacuuming, too. Ha ha. But, I would like for this Bissell to show a little more motivation! And vacuum suction at the edges is weak. But again, for the low price, if you want a well-made sturdy vacuum with great suction, the Bissell is great. I just purchased this vacuum last night. I do not like to vacuum but when I tried it out and watched my mainly black colored oriental rug turn to new looking I could not stop vacuuming. The suction power of of this vacuum is incredible! I filled the dust bucket after doing 3 rugs, note the emptying of the bucket was very easy and I did not wear the dust like my other vac.

I Have a light gray cat and her hair does get everywhere the vacuum easily got rid of all her hair from the rugs with no problem. I have to still try the on board tools which I will doing tonight.
The vacuum cleans hardwoods floors easily as the carpets, note there is a dial on the vacuum to adjust the brush height. The headlight is convenient so you can see clearly the space you are cleaning. This vacuum is a real pain, it is heavy and bulgy, not a great item for a pregnant woman to lug around. Living in a 3 story house it was a pain to drag up and down the stairs when not pregnat now it is worse, there is no handle in the front to get a good grip. The extension wands have pluses and minuses, they are flimsy, however nice to use to get under the beds and fruniture. Like using a tank vacuum. The ohter issue with this item is pain getting over thresholds etc. Also, each time you hit something all the extra brushes fall off and the bagless tank comes crashing off.
The good thing about this vacuum it does vacuum well, great suction. I have two cats and it picks up the fur no problem love that.

This Hoover is a work horse. I have been using mine three or four times a week for a couple years and it is still going strong.

The biggest pro of this vacuum is definitely the wide path, this is great for vacuuming large areas of carpet. I also appreciate that it is bagless and that it is easy to empty the cylinder - just snap down the clip and the cylinder comes out, take the filter off the top and you're ready to dump the contents in to the trash with no mess.

My only con is that the attachments never really stay secure on the back of the vacuum. They always fall out or come undone. I keep the attachments stored elsewhere to avoid this hassle. I acquired this vacuum in 06. It was a wedding gift that replaced my husband's vacuum from the 1970's. I started having problems with this machine in the first few uses. The belt breaks constantly. I keep a large supply on hand. The on and off button broke. I have to unplug it to turn it on or off. It is heavy and hard to maneuver. When not in the upright position, the attachments fall out. The handle part where you grip the vacuum? The cap on the end falls off.

The good things, the good things...It does a good job of telling you if the floor is still dirty. The bag is easy to change.
